Hoisin Turkey Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

  • WRAP
  • 225g ground turkey
  • handful of mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 can water chestnuts drained and diced
  • 1/2 large shredded carrot
  • 2 spring onions
  • 5 tbs reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 large head of lettuce, washed, dried and leaves separated
  • DIPPING SAUCE
  • 5 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1/2 sliced red chilli

Method

  •  In a large pan, brown the ground turkey over medium-high heat, breaking up the pieces. Pour into a colander, in the sink and drain fat and return turkey to pan
  • Add the spring onions, water chestnuts, mushrooms, carrot, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, water and sesame oil. Cook for a few minutes until the spring onions and carrots are soft
  • In a small bowl, add all the dipping sauce ingredients and mix well
  •  To assemble each turkey wrap: Spoon about ⅓ cup of turkey filling onto one lettuce leaf and roll Serve with dipping sauce on the side
  • Serves 1
